While tropical storm Isaias did not impact Florida
severely, it provided an opportunity to beta test new sheltering strategies adjusted
for post COVD-19.
Arrangements for non-congregate shelter options for
people who have had or are suspected of having COVID-19 have been made. People
who have tested positive recently, or who do not pass a temperature screening, will
be redirected to predetermined hotels.
Governor DeSantis urged all Floridians to prepare a personal emergency plan in anticipation of more storms before this hurricane season concludes.
