Beginning Monday, Sept 14, 2020 bars and other alcoholic
beverage vendors may resume sales of alcoholic beverages for consumption on the
premises.
The COVID shutdown in Florida started March 9, 2020 with
Executive Order 20-52. All retail establishments (including restaurants and
bars) were completely shut down to walk in customers per this order.
As Florida began to reopen after the COVID shutdown, any establishment
whose alcohol sales made up more than 50% of revenue (bars) could operate at
50% occupancy starting on June 3, 2020. After a spike in COVID cases, Emergency
Order 20-9 suspended consumption of alcohol on premises for bars but
restaurants could continue operating.
Emergency Order 20-9 is RESCINDED as of 12:01AM, Monday,
September 14, 2020. Bars will be allowed to operate at 50% indoor capacity if
they provide seated service only and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
We will keep you posted of any future developments.
