Happy fall, Destin! October is recognized as one of the best months of the year in Destin due to its cooler temps, smaller crowds, and amazing events. This blog will provide plenty of ideas for the remainder of October and Halloween—Enjoy!

The Destin Fishing Rodeo:

Known as the “Luckiest Fishing Village,” Destin runs a Fishing Rodeo the entire month of October! Anglers from all over fish for their chance to win the daily prizes. All of the rodeo fun happens down at the Destin Harbor and weigh-ins take place at AJ’s Seafood & Oyster House 10am-7pm. The kids get to enjoy the excitement of the rodeo as well, they offer kid friendly weigh-ins and events. Additionally, in honor of the rodeo, they provide unique events all month long at the harbor. Rocktober Concert Series:

After watching the Destin Fishing Rodeo weigh-ins, enjoy a free concert at 7pm on the mainstage at the Harbor. Take advantage of this for one more night on October 22nd with, About to Sweat! Enjoy a bite to eat or drink before or after the event. Additionally, you will be able to celebrate the end of the night with a firework show over the Harbor at 9pm.

Bubbly Baytowne at Baytowne Wharf:

Baytowne has some more fun going on this month with their Bubbly Baytowne event. You’ll enjoy a night of shopping and free sparkling wine. This is a great event that can help kick-off your holiday shopping. Additionally, the event will include a free engraved tasting glass for you to use at each of the tasting spots. Wednesday Night Concert Series at Baytowne Wharf:

Looking for more concert fun? Baytowne Wharf is bringing the heat as well this month with a concert series every Wednesday. You have two more chances to take advantage of this concert series this month. Enjoy music, October 19th & the 26th from 7pm-9pm. The concert schedule includes: The Duchess on the 19th and Forrest Williams Band on the 26th. Baytowne Wharf is filled with tons to do, beyond just the music. Halloween Haunt at Destin Commons:

Get into the Halloween spirit with Destin Common’s Halloween Haunt! Enjoy a night of family fun which will include, crafts, face painting, costume contest, and trick-or-treating through the shops. The event takes place October 28th from 6pm-8pm and the trick-or-treating portion will begin at 7pm. Spooktacular Nights at Harborwalk Village:

Looking for another Halloween event? Enjoy three days of spooktacular fun from Thursday, October 27th - Saturday, October 29th. This popular Halloween event includes, orchestra performance on the main stage, a Bingo Pub Crawl, Trick-or-Treating around the Village, and a costume contest. The costume contest includes multiple winners in various categories with all different age groups, families, and pet groups. Trick-or-Treat Street at the Village of Baytowne Wharf:

Halloween is right around the corner and Baytowne Wharf is providing a fun event for October, 31st - Halloween day. The event will include live music and a dance party at the main stage, crafts, balloon animals, and a costume contest with a grand prize. Kids can also enjoy safely trick-or-treating throughout the Village shops. Halloween night at Baytowne will end with a special holiday themed fireworks display at 8pm. Tricks and Treasures with Fireworks at the Boardwalk:

The Halloween fun doesn’t end with Baytowne. The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island is also bringing something spooky & spectacular! Enjoy an exciting Halloween night on October 31st from 4pm-8pm. McGuire's Halloween 5k/10k Run:

Whether you are looking to run, walk, or people watch, the annual McGuire's Halloween 5k/10k is tons of fun! The race is incredibly entertaining as most participants and go-ers are decked out in their Halloween costume. After the race, everyone can enjoy a party at McGuires! The party will include live entertainment, Irish food, Irish ale, and Irish Wakes–their signature orange juice and rum drink.
